Shiatsu im Engadin

Treatment & procedure

Shiatsu and/or Acupuncture

Insert yourself into the world, listen to the river, get lost, find new ways, see in the dark & dream in the sun, start again, move away, change, switch to the sunny side, rest in the shade, enjoy the island, go with the flow in the swarm, …

There are many ways to go through life and Shiatsu can help us with that. Based on the theory of yin and yang, the five phases of change of wood-fire-earth-metal-water and the knowledge of Chinese medicine, Shiatsu combines a holistic understanding of people and their adventures in nature and their environment. The main focus of this health teaching is to harmonize the flow of energy, to center yourself and to connect with your own intuition and power, so that everyone invents their own way.

Let’s become independent artists of life, enjoy sharing our time on this wonderful planet with dear companions, consider ourselves lucky when everything is going smoothly and get up again if we stumble. Shiatsu, with its unjudgmental Eastern philosophy of life, can support and encourage the conscious use of thoughts and actions as a formative art. Learning to stand up for yourself, to create personal reality, to change. Get healthy and be in harmony with yourself.

After training as a Shiatsu therapist, I also completed the TCM training as a qualified acupuncturist and a qualified Tuina therapist. This enables me to combine these methods (including cupping, moxa) in my treatments if desired and depending on the situation.

We can't stop our thoughts, but we can choose the degree to which we listen or not.

Shiatsu is used to support:

  • neck, shoulder and back pain
  • digestion
  • physically and/or mentally stressful situations
  • anxiety disorders, depression, for reorientation (private, professional)
  • states of exhaustion and burn-out syndrome
  • after illness, surgery or accident to support the recovery process
  • for the general promotion of well-being and self-awareness
  • cancer therapies

I combine with TCM to:

  • using acupuncture for neuropathy after chemotherapy
  • assist with pregnancy and childbirth preparation
  • give cupping massages for stubborn back pain

Procedure

Shiatsu is a type of massage and is performed in light clothing on a futon (soft mat on the floor) and is suitable for people of all ages.

Gentle, sometimes firm, deep-acting pressure is applied to the meridians and acupuncture points with the thumbs, palms, elbows and knees. Through rotation and stretching, joints are loosened and made flexible again. In this way, blockages that show up as adhesions, tension, pain or even emotional upsets can be released.

Please bring comfortable training pants, a t-shirt and fresh socks. If desired, I can also work on a massage table.

Shiatsu is mostly practiced in silence.
